All what counts - live in the Now

 Since Club 115 is a player within the longevity movement, a lot happened to the community and industry. Yes, longevity became a multi billion $$$ heavy weight, an industry.

But:

All the billionaires obviously were not able (so far) to move the lamppost of ageing a millimetre further. Everybody still dies within the statistics. You would expect, that at least some of these money loaded tycoons could have extended his life.

Over all these years of my own research and studies, I cam to the conclusion, its anyway not about the number they nail on your coffin. Its rather the quality of life you lived. 

and if the quality is OK, the years will add up to longevity. Happy, successful, active and intelligent people live longer! 

My own result so far: Mental and physical top fit, happy life, sexual active and living the dream.

Longevity with martial arts

 The fountain of youth! Wouldn't it be nice to find it?

In my case I can clearly say, it is my life long committent to the martial arts. The body needs to stay active and kept in good condition and my training, especially the Jiu-Jitsu training is what keeps me on top of the game. At the age of 69 I have recently passed my latest test and received my last grading. I am a 4th Dan master grade Jiu-Jitsu now.

Find yourself a physical activity, a sport which keeps you fit and healthy, but does not absorb your body while practising. Jiu-Jitsu is the gentle art, the soft art. And there are very little injuries in this kind of sport.

Public enemy no 3


November the 14th is World Diabetes Day. 

 Diabetics know what it means to suffer from this diabolical disease. Not only do they inject insulin every day, their eyesight also deteriorates, their eyes fail at some point, and then their limbs are amputated because the blood supply to the periphery fails. 

Not nice like that. And the worst thing about this disease is that it is self-inflicted in the vast majority of cases. Namely due to lack of exercise in connection with wrong - and overeating. Public Enemy No. 3 says hello on a pretty nice November morning.

Why you want to grow old in the first place?

 

You born - live a life - you die. That's the circle. The average time counted in years is about 85 in western societies nowadays. In days that means 31000 days (yes, one day of it is over soon). But what does it mean for longevity? How does it matter if you extend this time by five years? 25 years?

What i want to say is, live NOW!

What will your lifespan be like?

 

At present we look at a lifespan of about 70-90 years, if someone is lucky to get there and depending on personal living situation, genetics, location, life circumstances etc.

If we pick the good case you become 80 years old, you have lived 29,200 days by than. Funny how many hours might you have spent on doing ordinary stuff like washing up, shaving, or even sleeping?

Did you use your life time responsible, happy and worth living?

Not all of us can say so. Plans been made and never got there. Illness and the normal deterioration as we age kicked in.

Youth might have wasted time when young, as many people in their later years remark how short it all seems and how fast time flew by!

Time is perhaps the most precious resource of all, but many people only understand that when its too late.

Go and make the most of the day!

The influence of the moon

The influence of the moon on people can be seen and felt most clearly when there is a full moon. In terms of strength, the same influences apply at the time of the new moon, but the big difference lies in the lunar disk, which is so clearly visible when the sky is clear.

 

Tonight there is a full moon over Dorset again and that can mean that the tides are a little more extreme, some are unable to sleep, more births, but also more violence, plants are now particularly sensitive to changes, increased sex drive, drug and alcohol consumption is increasing, and the like much more.

How much time left?

If anything can be equated with "God" to me, then it's time. Time is a quantity, if we measure it with our conventional tools, then time is relatively manageable and you can "calculate" with it.

Everyone divides their time personally. It usually depends on day or night, working life, special events such as birthdays or appointments in general. Everyone is born, then the time that we call our own life begins to run out.

There are few exceptions and people live to be over 100 years old. 80 years is possible in some industrialized nations, while in parts of the Third World people sometimes only live to 35 years. In Germany, the average is around 75 years. But a few years more or less in statistics doesn't matter. What is far more important is how you deal with your own lifetime.

Let's say if you're 47 today, do you have a plan, an idea of what should happen until you reach the statistically end?

I think every year that we are allowed to live in health and contentment is worth being watched closely and cared for. We should never be careless with our remaining time. Here at Club 115 we count the lifetime in hours instead of years. I myself only have 390144 hours left. Then it's over and something "different" begins. Publishing this post took 1/2 hour of my life.

The journey is more important than the destination


The journey is more important than the destination. The goal is our path!

My father always used to  say "when I retire ... then I can do this and that ...". Well, unfortunately, this wishful thinking could not be implemented with him. Advanced diabetes has largely taken away his sight and thus his love, talent, skill and diligence in painting was suddenly stopped. And that pretty much at the same time as the pension notice. What a sad turning point. What does this teach us? 

 Do it! And do it now!

... and as young as today

I am now in my sixties and sometimes I think that all the knowledge and information that I was able to acquire, some of it with difficulty, some of it took a long time, would have been an immense enrichment for my life if it had been available earlier. But unfortunately, I didn't come across the clever advisors and ways of life in earlier years. Nowadays, I am also actively searching for myself and am open to tips and tricks that can enrich my life. And I'm in no way saddened. The Methuselah calculator has certified that I will be at least 101 years old! And with the help of Club 115 advice >>> 115 years!

A mental review. Allways a good idea


Don't just tidy up the kitchen or garage. 
Sometimes it needs your own self, which deserves a clean up.
Here are some ideas for the "big cleaning" in between.

1. Throw anger and any pent-up hatred overboard. Away with jealousy.
2. Think through your frustrations.
3. Improve your communication with those close to you.
4. End the "procrastination".
5. Avoid gossip and lies.
6. Enrich yourself with a little more humour and lightness.
7. Give more than you take.
8. Open yourself to new things and fresh ideas.
9. Don't just think healthy, try to implement it.

Here I want to leave it at that. And if you only want to implement a few of them, it will be helpful.

Everyone wants to grow old - nobody wants to be old


   Birthdays are always something special in a person's life. Once a young person hears about numbers, years, and age differences with the privileges that come with them, it can't happen fast enough. 

Finally going to school at the age of 6. Then 16! 18! 21 used to be such a magical age. Then the counting gradually becomes quieter. Years later you don't know when you ask your own age. Am I 38 or 37 now? From the age of 50, you can cheat. Don't be old! I found a photo of my 30th birthday today. Somehow, that's no longer true, yet it was only "recently". Time and years of life are difficult subjects to grasp.

Eat less - stay happy - don't diet



Anyone who has got problems with their weight is actually expressing through the kilos:

I have problems!  

Problems they have been there long before obesity. So it doesn't bring any real progress just to fight obesity. Solve the problems!  

A good tip to start with being overweight: Use small plates and eat healthy.
