Passive smoking is deadly for children

That's why people at Club 115 don't smoke at all! Because we love our children. And by the way not only the children are at risk. Passive smoking kills even the bird!!

Open the window, wave the smoke away? Does not help. If one of the parents smoke, their children have an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. In the worst case, this could later lead to a heart attack.

Passive smoking in children increases the risk of later cardiovascular diseases. Scientists from the University of Ulm/Germany found clear evidence of biochemical changes in the blood of children who are exposed to cigarette smoke. In adults it has long been known that inflammation and metabolic parameters change as a result of smoke and passive smoke, thereby favouring atherosclerosis. So far, however, there has been little knowledge in children.

For their study, the scientists analysed the blood values of 400 school children. They also asked the parents, about their cigarette consumption. When the researchers combined the results of both investigations, there was a clear result: if the parents smoked, several inflammation markers in the children's blood were elevated.
